学生社区政府 (SCG) Inc. acts as the voice of the student body. Members are elected by their peers and work closely with the RIC administration to collaborate and problem-solve issues that affect students. SCG funds and oversees all student organizations and advocates for student-related initiatives at Rhode Island College.

RIC/AFT unites members of the Rhode Island College faculty in a federation for mutual assistance in order to promote the interests of the faculty and the teaching profession and to protect an atmosphere and structure of academic freedom for faculty and students in the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge and in the acquisition and dissemination of skills.

The Professional Staff Association at Rhode Island College (PSA@RIC) is the bargaining unit for individuals in a variety of administrative, non-teaching faculty and technical staff positions at the college. The PSA@RIC is Local 3302 of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), affiliated with the AFLCIO and is a proud partner in the effort to provide top-quality educational services at Rhode Island College.
